NCAA Lacrosse Tournament 2015: Time, TV schedule and live stream for championship game

The 2015 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse National Championship game is set after a pair of thrilling semifinal matches this past Saturday. No. 4 seed Denver earned its first ever title game appearance by beating Notre Dame in overtime. It will face another of the sport’s bluebloods in No. 6 seed Maryland, who beat Johns Hopkins to earn its 12th trip to the NCAA Championship game.

Denver held a four-goal lead with fewer than four minutes remaining in its bout. Wesley Berg ended the tension with a goal in sudden-death overtime, assisted by Tyler Pace, to give the Pioneers an 11-10 win. The assist was Pace’s second of the match, along with two goals.

Maryland had to hold off Johns Hopkins in similar fashion. Though the Terrapins never trailed, they gave up a five-goal run to the Blue Jays that tied the match at 10-10 early in the fourth period. Matt Rambo scored the Terps’ final two goals to avoid the potential collapse and preserve a 12-11 win. Blue Jays’ John Crawley had four goals in a losing effort, including three during Johns Hopkins’ 5-0 run.

Maryland’s championship history hasn’t been much more glorious than Denver’s, lately. The Terrapins have not won a title since 1975, losing eight straight championship game appearances in the last 40 years. Unfortunately for them, they face an uphill battle against a Denver squad that has made the Final Four three years running and boasts an absurdly efficient offense.

Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia will host the match at 1 p.m. ET on Memorial Day. ESPN2 will carry primary coverage, with ESPNU showing the game from its SkyCam angle. Those with access to WatchESPN can view the game online.
