Jordan Spieth won the 2015 U.S. Open on Sunday to become the younger golfer ever, at 21 years old, to hold the first two legs of a grand slam. The last player to hold both the Masters and U.S. Open titles in the same year was Tiger Woods in 2002.
Jordan Spieth wins the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay
Jordan Spieth won the 2015 U.S. Open after Dustin Johnson missed eagle and birdie opportunities on No. 18.

Spieth shot 5-under over four days to edge out Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen at 4-under, and Adam Scott, Cameron Smith and Branden Grace at 3-under. Full results here.
Spieth hit birdie on No. 18 to seemingly hold off Dustin Johnson. He was all but assured victory after hitting a birdie on 16 to take a commanding three-stroke lead. However, the double bogey on No. 17 threw him back into a tie for first with Louis Oosthuizen, who birdied No. 18.
Johnson had a chance to win on No. 18. After hitting birdie on 17, he set himself up for a 12-foot putt for eagle that would have won the tournament. He just missed, however, hitting the ball past the cup, then blew a five-footer for birdie that would have forced a Monday playoff.
With the win, Spieth also becomes the youngest player to win two career majors since 1922, and the youngest U.S. Open winner since 1923. Oosthuizen and Dustin Johnson took second place at 4-under.
