Atlanta Hawks unveil new uniforms featuring red, black and ‘volt green’

The Hawks have added a dose of neon green to their uniforms for next season.

The Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday officially revealed their new set of uniforms for the 2015-16 season. Taking a different direction from the relatively plain look unveiled by the Los Angeles Clippers recently, the Hawks are rolling out bold new digs featuring a combination of red, black and something called "volt green."

It’s basically neon green.

The team is also planning on mixing and matching the various jerseys and shorts to create new combination uniforms. This does not seem to be thrilling many people.

Kyle Korver, Jeff Teague and Kent Bazemore were on hand Wednesday at the team's press conference, each wearing one of the new uniforms. There are various special aspects of the jerseys, including special insignias and a unique asymmetrical design, that are inspired by the team's Atlanta roots and on-court style. It doesn't appear that anyone had planned for Bazemore to be the third player, however.

The new uniforms are part of a rebranding of the Hawks this year that also includes a new primary logo based on the old “Pac-Man” logo. The team released three new logos -- a primary, a partial primary and a secondary -- on June 1.
