Greg Monroe meeting with Blazers, per report
Monroe and Blazers brass are reportedly meeting in D.C. on Wednesday.

Blazers owner Paul Allen, general manager Neil Olshey and head coach Terry Stotts are in the nation's capital meeting with Monroe, who is considered one of the top players on the market. One of the rare examples of a young player hitting unrestricted free agency after risking things on a qualifying offer, Monroe is just 25 years old and already has proven to be one of the most productive bigs in the league.
With LaMarcus Aldridge on his way out in Portland, Monroe could be a logical replacement as a steady four who can score and rebound. Last season, Monroe averaged 15.9 points and 10.2 rebounds for Detroit, and while those aren’t Aldridge-quality numbers, they would help the Blazers transition without their longtime franchise player.
Monroe passed on long-term offers from the Pistons in order to take a one-year qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent this summer, so he's likely looking for some stability on his new deal. The Blazers could be a team to offer that as they close in on an extension with All-Star guard Damian Lillard.
