UFC 190 fight card: List of tonight’s fighters for Rousey vs. Correia

T-minus 10 hours!

The countdown to UFC 190: “Rousey vs. Correia” is almost complete.

In just a few short hours, the mixed martial arts (MMA) action will begin inside HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for what has turned out to be a very “personal” main event between women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and undefeated challenger Bethe Correia.

Correia called out Rousey months ago, predicting that she would “kill herself” after suffering humiliation at her hands. That struck a “Rowdy” nerve because she lost her father about 20 years ago to suicide. The Brazilian claimed that she was unaware of the tragedy and issued a public apology; however, company president Dana White has since revealed that the Brazilian’s words were carefully calculated to bait Rousey into a fight.

It worked. But, if there were ever a case of “careful what you wish for,” this is it. Rousey is expected to steamroll Correia, who lacks the skill and experience to pose a significant threat to the reigning, ultra-dominant 135-pound female champion.

The pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event is a rematch between former Light Heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua, taking on fellow countryman Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. The pair first met back in 2005 in an exciting fight at Pride “Critical Countdown” during the now-defunct promotion’s Middleweight Grand Prix Quarterfinal. In fact, many labeled it the “Fight of the Year,” which Rua ultimately won via unanimous decision.

That’s not all.

In addition to the seven-fight PPV main card there is also a six-fight “Prelims” undercard that will be split between UFC’s online digital network, “Fight Pass,” and its television broadcasting partner, FOX Sports 1.
