The opening day of the 2015 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., was a wet one, and all four scheduled games for Thursday were postponed due to steady rain and lightning in the areas.

“We have been advised that weather conditions will get progressively worse throughout the day,” said Patrick Wilson, Little League international tournament director, in a press release. “In an interest to give all teams the opportunity to play with full player availability and ideal field conditions, keep the Little League Baseball World Series on schedule, and provide fans and visitors with the best experience, we have decided to hold all first-round games tomorrow.”
The ramifications of Thursday’s postponements mean there will be a whopping eight games on Friday, with all 16 teams playing their first-round games of the double-elimination tournament.
Friday’s first game will feature the team from the Dominican Republic, representing the Caribbean, facing the team for Uganda, representing Europe-Africa.
