These may be the final three minutes of Floyd Mayweather’s boxing career, a curse and a blessing for the sport of boxing. He’s the biggest star in the game domestically, but it’s hard to imagine even diehard fight fans really missing nights like these. In short, he’s proven everything he can prove. Berto is no more or less a challenge, at least not significantly so, than anyone else would have been tonight.

Crowd booing somewhat halfway into the round, but that could be something going on in the audience, too. Mayweather pins himself in the corner and smacks Berto around at a standstill. Hook from Mayweather lands as he comes off the ropes. Hard right uppercut from Floyd hurts Berto, and now Mayweather is going for the finish with 45 seconds to go. Right hand from Mayweather, but Berto ties him up.
Andre likely will get through this, but Floyd would clearly have loved to get the stoppage there. Jab to the body from Floyd as he tries to set up one last big opening. Left uppercut from Mayweather.
