Steve Smith had a potential game-winning touchdown bounce right off his face

Steve Smith has proven to be one of the most reliable wide receivers in the NFL. Naturally when the Ravens needed a big play late in the game against the Broncos, Joe Flacco threw it Smith’s direction. Trailing 19-13, Smith had a golden opportunity to score a game-tying and potentially winning touchdown.

Except this happened:

There may have been a slight tip, but Smith still had the ball hit him in both hands. Instead of hauling in a game-changing touchdown, the ball bounced off his face.

To make matters worse, Smith didn’t get a chance to redeem himself. Flacco was picked off on the next play to end the game.
