Tom Brady’s dad calls Roger Goodell a ‘flaming liar’ on radio show

Sports radio can be a thrilling place with blistering hot takes from top opinion leaders in the sports world. But every now and then, you get that rare moment where opinion and news intersect in a way that’s just incredible.

Friday afternoon, we had one of those rare collisions. KGO 810 host Chip Franklin got a call on the Deflategate topic from Tom Brady's father, Tom Brady Sr.

The whole conversation is great, if for nothing else to hear a candid defense for Tom Brady from someone close to him, but the good stuff starts at the 3:30 mark when Tom Brady’s dad goes off on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell:

"We know Goodell has lied. He lied in the Ray Rice case. He lied in this case. He has lied in the Peterson case. How many times do you need to know that this guy is a flaming liar?"

That’s an amazing quote on several levels, but the best part of it is knowing Tom Brady’s dad, like every other great sports parent, isn’t afraid to stand up for their kid if their performance is being questioned.
