The Washington Nationals have acquired outfielder Ben Revere and a player to be named from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for relief pitcher Drew Storen, the teams announced on Friday.
Nationals acquire Ben Revere from Blue Jays for Drew Storen

Jon Heyman was the first to report the deal.
The Nationals were in search of an outfielder one day after losing free agent Denard Span, who landed in San Francisco with a three-year, $31 million deal with the Giants. Revere hit .306/.342/.377 with 31 steals in 152 games between the Phillies and Blue Jays in 2015.
Storen was 2-2 with a 3.44 ERA in 58 games for the Nationals in 2015, with 67 strikeouts and 16 walks in 55 innings. He saved 29 games in 31 attempts through July, but lost his job as Nationals closer when the club acquired Jonathan Papelbon at the trade deadline. Papelbon is signed through 2016.
Storen, 28, put up a 3.02 ERA in six seasons with Washington with 95 saves, and 321 strikeouts in 334 innings.
Both Revere and Storen are eligible for salary arbitration this winter. MLB Trade Rumors projects Revere to earn $6.7 million in 2016, and Storen to earn $8.8 million. Washington is also sending cash in the deal to Toronto, with Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reporting the cash will even out the differences in the two salaries.
Storen will be a free agent after 2016, and Revere after 2017.
