Things stayed relatively quiet for the Giants in Sunday night’s 23-16 loss to the Packers. The frustration on the field boiled over after the game for left tackle Ereck Flowers who shoved ESPN reporter Jordan Raanan in the locker room.

Flowers was talking to a reporter when Raanan came up to talk to him, according to a recounting of the incident from NJ.com.

”Hey, get out my face man. Don’t come over here,” Flowers said. When Raanan didn’t leave, Flowers doubled down, saying “You hear me?”

Raanan responded by telling Flowers: “I’m just trying to do my job.”

Flowers told him to leave again, and Raanan offered the same response. At that point, the Giants left tackle told him “get the [expletive] out of my face, bro.”

Raanan gave him the same answer and that’s when Flowers shoved him.

It was the third loss in a row for the Giants, who opened the season 2-0. Flowers didn’t have a very good game, getting a holding penalty, allowing a sack and more pressure on quarterback Eli Manning.

Nobody from the Giants PR staff was there, and the team hasn’t commented. Neither has Flowers. Raanan confirmed the incident, but brushed it off when asked about it on Twitter.

Monday, Newsday reported that Flowers apologized for the incident, as Giants coach Ben McAdoo told reporters on a conference call:

“I talked to Ereck, Jerry [Reese] talked to Ereck, and P.R. talked to Ereck,” Ben McAdoo said on a Monday conference call. “We had a chance to sit him down. He called and spoke to [the reporter] Jordan [Ranaan] and apologized. He understands that he cannot behave that way. It’s unacceptable. It’s important for us all to have a professional relationship with the media, players and coaches.”

McAdoo did not mention whether or not Flowers would face discipline for the incident.
