NHL scores 2016: The rookies continue to shine

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY SportsDid you know, there are other rookie players out there in the NHL this year besides Auston Matthews? Crazy to think, but it’s true! And they had a pretty stellar night of hockey, if I do say so myself.
Night four of the new NHL season had 13 games on the docket, featuring some pretty great rookie talent not rhyming with Shauston Smatthews (though he’s okay too, I suppose). Instead of Matthews, teammates Mitch Marner and Connor Brown took center stage for the Maple Leafs in their 4-1 win over the Bruins — their first victory of the season.

What should have been a routine play around the boards turned into a disaster for the new Ducks goaltender. Instead of handling a clean puck near his own net, Bernier was unable to close off the angle as the puck was poked between his legs out to the front of the net.
