The NFL’s war against fun has no end in sight. Washington tight end Vernon Davis was fined $12,154 by the league for shooting a jump shot after a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
Vernon Davis got fined $12,000 by the NFL for his sweet jump shot
How ridiculous is that?

The veteran tight end was called for excessive celebration on the play, and it cost his team 15 yards on the kickoff. On the kickoff, Wendell Smallwood took the kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown.
Davis has sweet form on his jumper too, holding his release at the top:
This is nothing new for Davis, though. The jumper was his signature during his time in San Francisco with the 49ers. The team even made a compilation of Davis getting buckets at the end of touchdowns.
But the NFL outlawed basketball-themed celebrations back in 2014. Because the NFL doesn’t like fun, and fun happens in basketball. So no basketball celebrations allowed.
Washington got the win 27-20, and even though his celebration is illegal that jumper is still sweet.
