Leonard Fournette has missed three games this year with injury, and in his return game (his first under Ed Orgeron’s offensive coordinator, Steve Ensminger), he broke LSU’s school record for rushing yardage, putting up 284 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 carries, a hilarious 17.75-yard average.

Every time you flipped back over to this game, Fournette was breaking loose. He nearly broke LSU’s record on just his seventh carry of the night.
And if he’d gotten, oh, 20 carries, he could’ve made a run at the all-time conference record, too.
Backup Derrius Guice, who filled in well during Fournette’s injury, had 16 carries of his own, and there was little reason to keep riding the big horse, with the Tigers’ lead growing to two scores with 23 minutes still to go.
This is the second time in three games that LSU’s remodeled offense has broken records. In Orgeron’s first game as head coach, LSU set a school record for yards in an SEC game ... without Fournette.
