Seth DeValve, the Cleveland Browns’ third string tight end, made a big play in the second quarter of Thursday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens, getting in the end zone on a 25-yard pass from rookie quarterback Cody Kessler.
Seth DeValve caught a touchdown for the Browns, but is definitely not on your fantasy team
You may have never heard of DeValve, but he made one heck of a play for Cleveland.

But who the heck is DeValve?
DeValve is a rookie out of Princeton University, and after a college career hindered by injuries, he stood out at his pro day, according to Yahoo Sports’ Eric Edholm. DeValve also had a high SPARQ score, which is a test that is essentially an athletic SAT and measures potential. DeValve scored a 140.2, the highest of all of Cleveland’s picks in 2016.
The Browns took him in the fourth round of the 2016 draft, making DeValve the highest-drafted player out of Princeton in the modern draft era.
He spent most of training camp on the PUP list due to a hamstring injury, but he worked over that time to ensure he was prepared to play.
“You can control the things you can control,” DeValve said, via Scott Patsko of Cleveland.com. “If I can’t get on the field, I can be in my notes and in my playbook and in the meetings just as diligently as anybody else, so I do feel prepared to play.”
He looked prepared to play against the Ravens.
Prior to Thursday night’s game against the Ravens, DeValve had just one reception for five yards. Tonight, he gave the Browns a touchdown and a little momentum as Cleveland looks to lock up its first win this season.
