There’s something about the New Orleans Saints and the NFL’s recent special teams rule change from March 2015. The Saints have been involved in two of the three plays where a team has blocked an extra point and converted it for two points on defense.
The Saints’ loss to the Broncos wasn’t the 1st time they’ve been involved with a blocked extra point
They’ve been here before, just on the other side.

On Sunday, the Broncos became the first team to win a game in such fashion. The extra point would have given the Saints a 24-23 lead, and instead, Will Parks of the Broncos took the blocked kick back for two points and the win.
Yes, there was the Will Hill “kick six” on Monday Night Football last season, but that wasn’t an extra point. This is the first time a deuce has won the game.
The first instance of any team blocking an extra point and taking it the distance for points came when the Saints were on the good end of the spectrum.
They blocked a Carolina Panthers extra point attempt that Stephone Anthony returned it to the house.
Then, in Week 2 this season, the Baltimore Ravens blocked a Cleveland Brown extra point that rookie cornerback Tavon Young scooped and scored for the two points.
Who knows what it is about the Saints that has them involved in these types of plays. When you reminisce, special teams plays have always been interesting when it comes to the Saints.
