Los Angeles Rams defensive end Robert Quinn admitted himself to a hospital due to a “non-football related illness,” the team said in a statement on Monday. Since then, Quinn has been released from the hospital, and returned to the Rams practice facility, according to NFL.com’s Steve Wyche.

He’s also back at the team’s practice facility.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher met with the media at 8 p.m. ET Monday and shared more details about Quinn’s condition.
“I spoke with Rob several hours ago, in addition to Christina, his wife, and he was, in fact, admitted to the hospital this morning for tests,” Fisher said. “He’s feeling much better. He kept saying to me, ‘Coach, I just want to get back.’”
Fisher said that Quinn sits behind him on the bus after games, and the two had watched film together on the team bus following the Rams’ win over the Jets on Sunday. He said something must have changed for Quinn overnight, but things are looking up now.
“We’re still undergoing tests, and things look encouraging,” Fisher said. “You know, he was fine after the game.”
The two-time Pro-Bowler is struggling this season. He only has eight tackles to go along with two sacks. Even though this isn’t a football related injury, Quinn has been unable to stay healthy over the past year.
In 2015, he underwent back surgery and missed his final seven games of the season. Due to a shoulder injury this season, Quinn missed Weeks 5 and 6.
