Former Falcons WR Roddy White says he felt threatened during routine traffic stop
White claims an officer put a hand on his gun during a routine traffic stop for a speeding violation.

White said that he had no problem receiving tickets for speeding and driving with an expired registration tag, but that he plans to report the DeKalb County officer for his actions.
“He told me, ‘Yeah, yeah, that’s police protocol,’” White told CNN a day after the stop. “So I was like, ‘Are you serious?’ And he was like ‘No, that’s my protocol, that’s what I do as a police officer.’”
White felt the reason for the officer’s threatening posture was racially motivated and tweeted he would report the officer because it “may save the next black man’s life.”
White was released by the Falcons in March after 11 seasons with the team. He’s the all-time leader for the franchise in every major receiving category with 808 receptions for 10,863 yards and 63 touchdowns.
