The Buffalo Bills edged out a win over the Cincinnati Bengals, on Sunday, but the Bills’ star running back LeSean McCoy suffered a thumb injury along the way.

He’s still expected to play next week.

McCoy was ruled out due to a thumb injury suffered in the first half. Prior to the injury, McCoy had 33 rushing yards on five attempts, including a 7-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He also caught two passes for 12 yards.
McCoy will need a surgical procedure on the dislocated thumb, but he’s expected to play next week, according to BuffaloBills.com’s Chris Brown.
The Bills have to relied on Mike Gillislee to take the majority of the carries in McCoy’s absence. He entered the week with 252 rushing yards on 42 carries, for an impressive 6.0 yards per carry.
Sunday, Gillislee had 14 carries and accumulated 72 yards in McCoy’s absence. That’s good production for a backup back.
