As if things weren’t bad enough for the Chicago Bears, now comes a report that the team could be without quarterback Jay Cutler. He suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s loss to the Giants that could be season-ending, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Jay Cutler’s season could be over
More bad news for the Bears, kind of.

Multiple sources at NFL Network, including Ian Rapoport, seem to point toward a torn labrum in Cutler’s right shoulder.
Head coach John Fox denied it was a season-ending injury and insisted Culter is day to day.
Cutler did finish out the game on Sunday, but when he suffered the injury still isn’t clear. He was sacked four times in the Giants’ 22-16 win at MetLife Stadium.
Injuries have already been a problem for Cutler and the rest of the Bears quarterbacks this year. Cutler has only started in five of the Bears’ 10 games this season because of a thumb injury. Brian Hoyer broke his arm, which brought Cutler off the shelf.
If Cutler is done for the week or the season, Matt Barkley would take his place in the lineup. The only other quarterback on the roster is Josh Woodrum, an undrafted rookie from Liberty that the Bears signed to the practice squad last week.
The Bears recently added a third quarterback, as they have signed QB David Fales off the Ravens’ practice squad.
Fales should be familiar to Bears fans, as the Bears selected Fales in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL draft. Fales remained with the team through the end of this season’s training camp before joining the Ravens.
Most experts believe that this is Cutler’s final year with the Bears. His contract goes through 2020, but the cap hit incurred by releasing him, a mere $2 million in dead money, would be relatively minor for the headache it would relieve.
