Wizards fans rejoice at end of blowout loss because they got free chicken sandwiches
Someone’s got to win, right?
The San Antonio Spurs are a powerhouse team, and they showed the Wizards that on Saturday with a 112-100 win on the road. But the Spurs gave Wizards fans a parting gift before leaving town.
With under a minute left in the fourth quarter, rookie Dejounte Murray missed two consecutive free throws, sending the Verizon Center crowd into a frenzy. When an opposing player misses two straight free throws against the Wizards at home, every fan in attendance is awarded a free Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich.
In February, after a win over Detroit, John Wall said Wizards fans, “get more excited for a free chicken sandwich than a win—that’s what it looks like.”
