Peyton Manning’s been retired for all of nine months, but he’s still making an impact off the field.
Peyton Manning surprised his biggest fan after learning she’s battling cancer
She absolutely loved it.

Rhonda Jacobs, a teacher at Teague Elementary in Pasadena, Texas, was diagnosed with cancer back in July. She’s a huge Peyton Manning fan. So much so that she listens to Manning talk during press conferences. She said via ABC 13, “His voice calms me down.”
So Nikki Seymour, the school’s nurse, reached out to Manning through his PeyBack Foundation and told him about Jacobs. On Halloween, Jacobs received a phone call that she will never forget.
“I was driving home and ‘Unknown’ appeared on my phone,” Jacobs said. “I answered the phone and the person on the other line said, ‘This is Peyton Manning.’ I was speechless.”
Manning gave her words of encouragement in her quest to beat cancer. “He said there will be dark days and I told him that I have already experienced some of those, but he said you just have to go through adversity and keep your faith strong.”
People young and old look up to athletes in different capacities, but it’s great to see the select few who get to see their dreams of meeting or talking to their heroes come to fruition.
