Breeders’ Cup odds 2016: Favorite California Chrome faces test from Arrogate, Frosted
The 2014 Horse of the Year is back for the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Classic

In odds released Friday night at Bovada, California Chrome was a 1-1 favorite to win the Classic — the ninth and final race at the Breeders’ Cup on Saturday — down from 8-11 odds on Thursday.
The Breeders’ Cup Classic is set to start at 8:35 p.m. ET on Saturday, part of NBC’s television coverage of the event from 8-9 p.m. NBCSN has coverage of the eight earlier races, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2014 on its way to capturing Horse of the Year honors. But in the Breeders’ Cup Classic that year, the horse finished third in a very close race behind the winner Bayern and runner-up Toast of New York.
On Saturday at the 2016 Classic, California Chrome figures to face a stiff test from Arrogate, the three-year-old who won the Travers Stakes in August, and Frosted, the four-year-old who finished second in the 2015 Belmont Stakes behind Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.
On Friday, Arrogate had 5-2 odds, per Bovada, with Frosted at 5-1.
Here are the full odds for the Breeders’ Cup Classic as of Friday night:
