But the 37-year-old made it clear that retirement was not yet in the cards, and he will try to once again leave the ring victorious, though his competition is younger, bigger and quite vicious.
Jessie Vargas will take on the former champion in the Thomas and Mack Center. The four-bout event starts at 9 p.m. ET. Other matchups on the night will include Zou Shiming vs. Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym (flyweight), Oscar Valdez vs. Hiroshige Osawa (featherweight) and Nonito Donaire vs. Jessie Magdaleno (super bantamweight).
Vargas comes into the fight with a 27-1 record with 10 knockouts, while Pacquiao boasts a 58-6-2 record with 38 KOs.
