Ben Roethlisberger’s status for Sunday is being called a “true game-time decision” by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who insist they won’t know until pregame warmups if the quarterback is ready to comeback from a knee injury suffered in Week 6. The Baltimore Ravens are convinced it’s gamesmanship, though.
The Ravens think Ben Roethlisberger will play, and they aren’t buying the Steelers’ ‘tomfoolery’
The Steelers say Ben Roethlisberger is a “true game time decision.” The Ravens think the Steelers are liars.

The Ravens are fully convinced that Roethlisberger will play with one player even telling NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala that they “don’t fall for tomfoolery.“
That message in the Baltimore locker room has apparently remained constant all week, as Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs had a similar message Wednesday:
“Don’t fall for that ... I saw this movie before, you know,” Suggs told reporters. “He’s gonna act like ‘aw, I’m not playing, I don’t know, I did individual [workouts] a little bit.’ But then he’ll walk his big ass on out there and [I’ll be like] ‘how you doin’ Benjamin.’”
A year ago, the Steelers weren’t convinced Roethlisberger was ready to start after returning to an injury, but gave him the green light to be the team’s backup against the Cleveland Browns. However, Landry Jones suffered an ankle sprain and Roethlisberger was forced into action. He finished the game with 379 passing yards and three touchdowns, breaking the record for most yards in a game by a backup.
The Steelers insist that if Roethlisberger isn’t 100 percent, he could back up Jones again. But Pittsburgh linebacker Vince Williams took the tomfoolery one step further Sunday morning and suggested it’ll be third-string option Zach Mettenberger under center:
Jones isn’t on the injury report and had a solid day against the New England Patriots in Week 7, so there’s no reason to believe that Williams’ tweet is anything more than the type of gamesmanship the Ravens are convinced the Steelers are doing.
