LeBron James and J.R. Smith joined Hillary Clinton at a rally in Cleveland
You can tell Election Day is getting closer.

LeBron James endorsed Hillary Clinton in an op-ed earlier this year, but he went a step further Sunday by showing up at her Cleveland rally to introduce her and say it again.
“We have to make sure we get out and vote ... and be knowledgeable about what’s going on and be knowledgeable about what our future entails,” James said. “This woman right here has the brightest future for our world.”
Before Clinton came out, James introduced his Cavs teammate J.R. Smith, who came to the rally with his family.
James has become known for making political statements, from wearing a T-shirt that said “I Can’t Breathe,” to represent Eric Garner, a victim of police brutality, to addressing police shootings at the ESPYs. He’s called Donald Trump’s “locker room talk” comments to Billy Bush “trash talk.”
Smith, on the other hand, has that reputation as a jokester, untying laces and forgoing shirts in public. He knows it, though. As recently as last month, Smith told the New Yorker he was worried about speaking out politically, particularly about police violence, because of the public’s perception of him.
Now though, he’s made at least one of his political stances clear. Smith even brought one of his daughters, Demi, onstage with him. Intended or not, it was a powerful moment to see Demi, 7, stand next to the first female presidential nominee of a major party.
