We’ve known for a while that the folks at EA Sports have a knack for compiling soundtracks. The Madden series has had some great hits over the years, *cough* “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet *cough*, but no other video game series has produced more consistently great soundtracks than FIFA.
Here are the best songs from ‘FIFA 17’s’ soundtrack
Warning: These may not all be dab-appropriate.

It’s been just over a month since the latest version of the game, FIFA 17, was released and almost two months since the soundtrack was revealed, so we’ve had a bit of time to mull over these songs. Here are some the best ones:
The foreign songs that bump
EA Sports stated in their official release that their “goal is to always deliver the ultimate global soundtrack experience.” With soccer being such a universal sport, FIFA reaches a huge international fanbase. So, EA have included some absolute head-bangers this year.
You may not understand what they’re saying, but hey, music’s a universal language.
For the headbanger in you
While the FIFA series is famous for unearthing those “diamonds in the rough,” they went for a more conservative big-name approach when picking their EDM artists. Kygo and Zedd are both notable DJs from Norway and Germany, respectively, and well known in their communities; they also resonate with a global audience, as that seems to be EA Sport’s recent push.
The potential indie hits
Last year, we saw “Way Down We Go” by Icelandic rock band Kaleo and “Trip Switch” by English band Nothing But Thieves take off and peak at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs and Rock Airplay charts, partly due to their inclusion on FIFA 16. This year, it could be one of these:
Get on this train early, because then you can tell your friends how you “knew about these guys before they were cool.”
The Strokes knock-off
“We Got U” by Lemaitre, The Knocks
If you swear by The Strokes and/or think Julian Casablancas genuinely has a good singing voice, you’re in luck. FIFA 17 happened to include a new artist who sounds incredibly similar.
The song is decent too.
This year’s anthem
“Move” by Saint Motel
Every year, there’s always that one song in FIFA that makes you want to groove out no matter where you’re sitting, whether it’s just playing in the background or during a brief cut scene. In ‘17, it’s “Move” by Saint Motel, and it’s not up for debate. Don’t believe me? Go on, listen to the song.
Saint Motel burst onto the indie scene back in 2014 with their song “My Type,” from FIFA 15. It went on to be successful, and we have a feeling this one will hit your local stations soon. Watch out, ladies and gentleman — we have a chart-topper on our hands.
All in all, this year’s soundtrack again lived up to the mark that FIFA has set. Give the rest a listen, because your favorite might still lurking in there somewhere.
