Atlanta Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley is having himself a game against the Los Angeles Rams, with three sacks on quarterback Jared Goff through the third quarter. That puts Beasley at 13.5 sacks on the season, which ties him at the top of the league with Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller.

It’s been a dominant season for Beasley, and it’s a big turnaround from a disappointing rookie campaign. Beasley was selected by Atlanta with the eighth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft to turn around the team’s lackluster pass rush, but it didn’t happen last season. Beasley finished the 2015 season with just four sacks.
Beasley’s third sack against the Rams came in the third quarter, when he got to Goff and stripped the ball.
Beasley recovered the ball himself, and ran it back 21 yards for a touchdown, extending Atlanta’s lead to 42-0.
Beasley had good reason to celebrate. He tried to dunk the ball over the goalpost, but it went poorly.
Beasley clearly is better at rushing the passer than celebrating touchdowns.
