Cowboys scored on the Giants because nobody was covering Terrance Williams

He was wiiiiiiide open.

Jeanna Kelley
Jeanna Kelley has been covering the Falcons for The Falcoholic since 2011 and the NFL for SB Nation since 2015.

The Dallas Cowboys took a 7-0 lead over the New York Giants in the first quarter of Sunday Night Football after the entire New York defense utterly failed to cover Terrance Williams.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott rolls out, and he has Vince Mayle open on a short route, but downfield, Williams has coverage totally and completely beat. Prescott delivers a perfectly-placed pass to Williams, who actually could have walked into the end zone.

The Giants handed Dallas its only loss of the season in Week 1, and the Cowboys are looking to win a 12th consecutive game.

Dallas has a postseason bid locked up, and the Cowboys are working toward the top seed in the NFC along with a first-round bye.
