The Dallas Cowboys have been a ratings king in 2016, and set another top mark Sunday night by setting the season record for NBC viewership.
Cowboys vs. Giants was NBC’s most-watched game of the 2016 NFL season
The Cowboys are trying to solve the NFL’s rating problems all by themselves this year.

The New York Giants defeated Dallas 10-7, sweeping the season series. The highlight of the night was a 61-yard touchdown by Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Other than Beckham’s long touchdown, the Giants struggled to move the ball.
Once again, Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott had another 100-yard performance, but quarterback Dak Prescott couldn’t complement Dallas’ strong rushing attack with an efficient passing game.
However, Prescott did throw a 31-yard touchdown to receiver Terrance Williams in the first quarter. Still, that wasn’t enough to seal a victory, an NFC East title, and a first-round bye.
In fact, this is not the first time this season where Dallas has been a ratings blessing for the NFL.
The Cowboys 31-26 victory against Washington on Thanksgiving Day was the most-watched NFL regular season game ever on Fox. When Dallas faced the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13, it was the most-watched Thursday Night Football game watched ever.
NFL ratings have been down this year, but the Cowboys are doing a fantastic job of attracting viewers.
Dallas is 11-2 and still holds the first seed in the NFC. It has a Week 15 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys’ three remaining games are in primetime.
New York is now 9-4 and currently holds the fifth seed in the NFC. The Giants have a Week 15 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
