Bengals cornerback Adam Jones was the latest NFL player to dig into Cleveland Browns wideout Terrelle Pryor after Sunday’s matchup between the Ohio teams, repeatedly answering “garbage” to each question that was asked of him about Pryor.
Hue Jackson and the Browns would like to see Terrelle Pryor control his emotions
Sunday’s game against the Bengals has raised concerns in Cleveland.

Pryor had yet to publicly respond to Jones’ remarks until Monday night, when he told Mary Kay Cabot in an email that “emotions are high” for the 0-13 Browns.
“Each and every one of my teammates and I have worked extremely hard to do everything we can to win for our head coach and fans,” Pryor said. “We are all competitive and want to win.”
Monday, Browns coach Hue Jackson spoke to the media about Pryor. He said that he wasn’t a fan of the talking.
“I just think it is unfortunate those things are happening,” Jackson said. “I do not think they have any place in the National Football League, especially on our team so we are going to try to get all those things to quiet down. We just want to play football, be the best football players we can be and let’s get away from all of that.”
Jackson, who spent four years as a coach for the Bengals, is familiar with Jones. “He is very competitive. Terrelle is very competitive. It probably went too far, and I think we just have to move on from it.”
According to Jones, Pryor told Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther earlier in the season that he was going to make Jones look so bad that he’d get cut after their Week 7 matchup in Cincinnati.
“We took it personal,” Jones said. “I know me and Dre [Kirkpatrick] did, personally, for a guy to personally go to my coordinator and tell me he’s going to get me cut after the game.”
On Monday, Guenther responded to Jones’ outburst.
“We don’t want to deal with that B.S. We’re not like that,” Guenther said. “We just play football. If two guys want to, typically you’ll have some guys that are competitive guys that know one another that, in a good, competitive spirit, two guys going at it, that’s one thing. But to take it to the extent that Adam did, we need to move on.”
Jones referenced one incident when Pryor got in quarterback Robert Griffin III’s face after Cleveland was forced to take a timeout when the clock was running down. Jackson was asked about that and about Pryor criticizing the offensive line play a couple of weeks ago. Jackson said “We do not need all of that” but was also quick to defend Pryor.
“I want to say this about Terrelle,” Jackson said. “I don’t think he is trying to be negative when he is doing it. The conversation on the field yesterday I think was that. They were disagreeing about the clock running down. Those things happen from time to time.
“I think Terrelle is trying to come from a good place, but he has to direct that energy in a different way, and I think he will.”
Pryor has been a great addition for the Browns in his move to receiver. They’ll hope to make just one last change with him and his energy.
