Ed Hochuli accidentally called an incomplete pass a touchdown

Allen Robinson most definitely did not catch a touchdown pass.

The officials eventually got the call right in the second quarter of a Week 15 game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, but not before a gaffe by Ed Hochuli that even he couldn’t help but laugh at.

Blake Bortles threw a long pass down the right sideline to Allen Robinson that fell incomplete, but drew a flag on Texans cornerback A.J. Bouye. Robinson never came close to hauling in the pass, so there was some confusion when Hochuli initially called the play a touchdown.

Oops.

Hochuli has always been one to own up to his mistakes, and drew a lot of attention in 2008 when he inadvertently blew his whistle on what looked to be a Jay Cutler fumble, but was instead called an incomplete pass.

This mistake wasn’t nearly as serious and Hochuli was able to laugh this one off.
