The Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots are playing this afternoon, and the two teams have given us some great matchups in the past.
Peyton Manning’s ‘Omaha’ is still being called against the Patriots
OMAHA!
Some of those included Peyton Manning and his signature “Omaha” calls at the line of scrimmage. Manning used to say it so much that the line for how many times he would during Super Bowl XLVIII was set at 27.5.
The Broncos are past those days with Trevor Siemian as their quarterback, but he brought us back with his own “Omaha!”
The catch for Manning was he was known as somebody who did a lot of talking at the line of scrimmage. It really became his trademark, but later in his career, that particular word stuck out with those viewing at home. Siemian is not really known for that, but it is funny to hear that again in a Broncos-Patriots game.
Siemian is not the most experienced quarterback, but trying to be just like Peyton Manning can’t be a bad thing to try to do, right?
