The Saints and Cardinals played a high-scoring game on Sunday afternoon in the desert, and tempers flared when the Saints scored to make it a 48-34 game.
Mark Ingram was furious after being pulled from the game on the goal line
Ingram was yelling at head coach Sean Payton.
The tempers weren’t on the field, but on the sideline. Tim Hightower finished off the Saints’ drive by running it in for the touchdown from the goal line, and it appeared that Mark Ingram may have been upset about it on the Saints’ sideline.
Typically we only see fantasy football owners getting upset over touchdown vultures like Hightower, but in this instance, it appears that’s what got Ingram as well.
Following the game, Ingram said he needs to be more in control of his emotions on the sideline.
“I’m real competitive in everything I do,” Ingram said, according to Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune. “I got to be smarter, I got to control my emotions better, but we had a great win as a team and that’s our No. 1 goal. And that’s what I’m happy for, that we’re bringing a win back to New Orleans.”
Sean Payton declined to answer questions about the exchange with Ingram following the game.
