Cleveland Browns receiver Terrelle Pryor suffered ligament damage in his finger during the team’s 33-13 loss against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15.
Terrelle Pryor wants to finish out the Browns’ meaningless season despite his finger injury
He is playing for his future, nevermind that the team is 0-14.

However, the veteran receiver wants to play in the final two games of the season but his availability is uncertain. He will undergo a procedure in the offseason to repair the damage, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He will also undergo an MRI and get a second opinion.
Cleveland’s remaining two games are against the San Diego Chargers on Saturday and at Pittsburgh on Jan 1.
Cabot also mentioned “the sprain, in a knuckle, affected him in the second half of the game.” Pryor finished the game with four catches for 19 yards.
The 27-year-old receiver leads the team with 67 catches for 877 yards and four touchdowns.
With the Browns at 0-14, Pryor’s decision to play through his injury raises some questions. Namely, why risk further injury for a team that’s not likely to win another game this season? However, he’s scheduled to become a free agent in the offseason, so in some small way, he’s playing for his future.
Pryor is playing $1.671 million tender, a one-year deal. If Pryor can eclipse the 1,000-yard mark, he could cash in on a big contract in the offseason.
Spotrac believes Pryor’s market value is $10.4 million per year. Also, the sports salary website thinks his next contract should be in the range of four years and $41 million. That puts him in No. 1 receiver territory, something he’s shown in Cleveland this season despite a revolving cast of quarterbacks.
You have to admire — a little anyway — Pryor’s decision to keep playing. He’s doing this for his future. The question now is whether his future is in Cleveland or somewhere else.
