The Seattle Seahawks weren’t happy about a 14-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss in Week 12, but according to one player, the Seahawks were spitting mad.
Buccaneers center Joe Hawley says Seahawks rookie Jarran Reed spit in his face
Gross.

Buccaneers center Joe Hawley said that a Seattle defender spit in his face, and he believes it was Seattle defensive lineman Jarran Reed, although he wasn’t 100 percent sure which player was the culprit.
”I mean, it’s one thing thing [to be] pushing, shouting, yelling,” Hawley said Thursday on Tampa Bay Sports Radio 620 WDAE, via ESPN. “But as soon as he spit in my face, I was pretty fired up about that. He’s a young guy. I guess he just — that’s not the way to do it.”
During the second quarter, Hawley and Reed got into a shoving match after the Seahawks stopped Doug Martin for a loss on third down. Cameras didn’t show the full sequence, but a replay of the scuffle showed Buccaneers guard Ali Marpet go after Reed:
Reed was a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft and has 1.5 sacks for the Seahawks.
Hawley said that he felt the Seahawks getting frustrated and “chippy” because of the physicality that the Buccaneers played with in the victory.
