Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was mic’d up when he celebrated a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by jumping into a giant Salvation Army kettle behind the end zone. Somehow, this makes a truly fun touchdown celebration even more delightful.
Tony Romo asked a mic’d up Ezekiel Elliott ‘Did you just jump in the Salvation Army Bucket?’
Elliott’s celebration is even more fun when you hear his reaction.

Elliott is congratulated by several teammates, including Tony Romo.
“Did you just jump in the Salvation Army Bucket?” Romo asked, laughing.
“Yeah,” Elliott said.
“You’re stupid,” Romo replied with a good-natured shove.
When the replay of the celebration is shown, Elliott has a simple explanation.
“I had to,” Elliott says. “It’s classic.”
Elliott comes to an important realization after he sees the replay of the celebration.
“Hey, I just broke the rookie touchdown record,” Elliott said.
It was Elliott’s 13th rushing touchdown this season, which set a franchise-high mark for rushing touchdowns. Both Tony Dorsett and Herschel Walker had 12 rushing touchdowns as rookies.
What’s most interesting is that Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, who seemed annoyed after the game by the penalty Elliott drew for the celebration, didn’t seem all that upset on the sideline.
Garrett did bring it up, however.
“You can’t do that. They just threw a flag on you,” Garrett said to Elliott immediately afterward. “You see what I’m talking about? That’s a hell of a run, though.”
Garrett followed it up with a congratulatory pat on Elliott’s butt.
The celebration did draw a penalty for using the bucket as a prop, but the NFL opted to not fine Elliott for the celebration.
The Salvation Army has experienced a dramatic increase in donations since the Cowboys’ 26-20 win over the Buccaneers. Not only was it a fun touchdown celebration, but the attention drawn to the Salvation Army is helping people in need.
