Fantasy owners know what’s at stake at this point of the season, and when the Vikings take on the Packers, there are lots of volatile options that won’t sit well in the nervous stomachs of those competing for fantasy league championships. Let’s take a look at the options for one of Saturday’s games:

Dan Ciarrocchi reviews who should be in fantasy lineups or on benches for a Week 16 NFC North showdown.
Minnesota Vikings
Start ‘em
Week 15’s meltdown against the Colts didn’t do any favors for the fantasy owners with stock in the Vikings offense, especially the poor few owners who took a chance on starting Adrian Peterson. Peterson has been ruled out of action for Week 16 and likely the rest of the season. That keeps Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Kyle Rudolph as the focal points of the offense. Thielen is expected to play despite having an injury-shortened Week 15. While that may dig into targets for Diggs and Rudolph, all three present enough upside to remain in fantasy lineups, especially if the offense is forced to play catchup against a rejuvenated Packers offense.
Sit ‘em
The Peterson-less backfield comprised of Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata can remain out of fantasy consideration, as can quarterback Sam Bradford.
Green Bay Packers
Start ‘em
Fantasy owners love it when head coaches finally decide to let a talented player monopolize the backfield, and that’s exactly what happened with Ty Montgomery against the Bears. With the Vikings pass defense ranked third in the NFL, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Montgomery be plenty involved in the game plan once again. Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson remain automatic in fantasy lineups of all leagues, and can be started once again despite the tough matchup. Nelson has 91 yards or more in six of his last eight outings.
Sit ‘em
Despite Rodgers’ prowess, the receiving game won’t benefit much from a trickle-down effect due to the Vikings’ still-capable secondary. Though Andrew Luck and the Colts made a mockery of them, it would be bold for fantasy owners to assume that it means Randall Cobb and Davante Adams will post respectable fantasy numbers. Adams can be considered a volatile flex option at best, while Cobb remains out of fantasy consideration altogether.
