Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan attempted to call a timeout to ice the Miami Dolphins’ kicker late in Saturday’s game. The officials didn’t acknowledge Ryan, and Andrew Franks nailed the 55-yard attempt to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Rex Ryan made a weak attempt at a timeout to ice the Dolphins’ kicker
Ryan tried to call a timeout, but he was just a bit late.

Ryan seemed frustrated, and I’m no lip-reading expert, but I’m pretty sure he’s saying something along the lines of “I called a timeout,” peppered with a bit of profanity.
But did Ryan really call the timeout before the ball was snapped?
No, Ryan called it after the ball was snapped. We’re talking about a matter of seconds, but still, Ryan was late. The refs were right to not acknowledge it, no matter how mad Ryan seemed about it after the fact.
Cornerback Corey White tried to call a timeout, too, and the refs didn’t acknowledge him either.
Franks’s field goal tied the game at 31-31 and sent it to overtime.
