The Broncos tried a fake field goal vs. the Chiefs and failed because kickers are slow

Have some confidence in your kicker ... to kick!

Broncos kicker Brandon McManus knocked in a 52-yard field goal earlier on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, and made it with room for error.

When the first half was nearing its conclusion, the Broncos were faced with a similar situation: a 53-yard attempt. McManus and the special teams unit went out on the field, but a kick wasn’t in the plans.

The Broncos ran a fake, with the holder pitching the ball to McManus, who didn’t get the first down.

No points left the game at 21-10, and now we’ll never know if the Broncos could have made it a one-score game.
