With a win, the Falcons would improve to 11-5, which can only be matched by the New York Giants. But the Giants can’t grab one of the top four seeds after the Dallas Cowboys locked down the NFC East.
At the bottom of the NFC playoff standings are the Detroit Lions, hanging on by a thread. Whoever wins the Sunday Night Football between the Lions and Packers wins the NFC North. The loser could still clinch a wild card berth if Washington falls to the Giants.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers pretty much blew their chance at the playoffs by losing to the Saints, but they’re not officially eliminated just yet. Washington can grab the final spot with a win over the Giants, as long as the Packers-Lions game doesn’t end in a tie.
