Colin Kaepernick replaced Blaine Gabbert earlier this season after the San Francisco 49ers’ offense wasn’t working under Gabbert. Now it appears the tables have turned yet again, and Gabbert has replaced Kaepernick.

Blaine Gabbert is back.


Kaepernick had just 4 passing yards in his time during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, and Chip Kelly called on Gabbert in the fourth quarter. Kaepernick had completed just one of his five pass attempts.
Upon entering the game, Gabbert completed his first pass on his first play.
Prior to entering Sunday, Gabbert had gone 1-4 in starts for the 49ers this season, competing 58 percent of his passes and throwing for 890 yards and five touchdowns against six interceptions.
