When Prince Harry kicked off the inaugural Invictus Games in London in 2014, it was clear that he put the full force of his passion behind it. The week-long athletic competitions ended with an enormous musical ceremony that paid tribute to service members worldwide for taking part.
Prince Harry’s presence is felt everywhere at the Invictus Games
Whenever there’s a big moment, Prince Harry is there to provide support and star quality to bring attention to the games.

Here in Orlando for the second Games, Prince Harry seems to be everywhere at once. He’s always showing up at the most important moments, whether to say words of encouragement, interact with the athletes such as US swimmer Elizabeth Marks, or to hand out awards.
Marks, who won first place in the 100-meter breaststroke, caught Prince Harry’s attention when she handed back her gold medal after her victory. When Marks journeyed to her first Invictus games in 2014, she became ill. Her lungs filled with fluid, and she was placed into a medically induced coma at Papworth hospital in Cambridgeshire, England. Marks said that this hospital saved her life, and in thanks, Marks asked that Prince Harry hand the medical staff her 2016 Invictus medal.
Yesterday, the aquatic portion of Invictus ended with the Mixed 4x50 LC Meter Freestyle Relay (the full results from the aquatics competition are here). The United Kingdom relay team took gold, with the US achieving silver and Estonia bronze. Prince Harry emerged from the tent where he quietly watched the event to drape medals around the necks of the winners. He also paused to take an appreciative photo with Michael Goody, Luke Reeson, Fergus Hurst, and David Wiseman of team UK.

Later that night, Prince Harry attended the gold medal Wheelchair Rugby match between the United States and Denmark. Alongside Vice President Joe Biden, he gave out the awards to top off this marquee event at the Invictus Games.
