RECLAMATION PROJECTS
Phil Kessel couldn't make it work in Toronto. Nick Bonino was jettisoned by the Ducks as a spare part. Carl Hagelin bounced from the Rangers to the Ducks without much success. And now, all three are thriving in Pittsburgh, contributing yet again in a Game 3 win.
Kessel deservedly earned most of the praise after his two goals spurred the Penguins to victory, but Bonino and Hagelin have given the Lightning fits all series, as well. Credit to Penguins GM Jim Rutherford for spotting struggling players and seizing the opportunity when they became available.
