Morning Skate: The Penguins created some Game 6 déjà vu for the Lightning
We’ve seen this before.

Lace ‘em up. Time for the Morning Skate.

YES AND NO
There were two questions heading into Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.
Would Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby step up? And would the Lightning avoid a repeat of the disastrous Game 6 rout in last year's conference final?
Malkin and Crosby answered the first question with a definitive yes. And so did Phil Kessel, who keeps demolishing the myth of "clutch."
But for 40 minutes on Tuesday, the Lightning looked as lifeless as they did when the New York Rangers beat them a year ago. But considering how they finished Game 6 (with 17 shots in 17 minutes, which seems pretty good) they might head into Game 7 with confidence anyways. Maybe they’ll even get to blow more kisses.
TONIGHT’S PLAYOFF FUN:
FOUR YEARS?
The Bruins just signed defenseman Kevan Miller to a four-year, $10 million extension that fans are NOT happy about. Don Sweeney is the best.

THAT’S NOT THE OILERS I KNOW
Edmonton GM Peter Chiarelli recently spoke about owing it to the fans to get better in a “relatively short period of time.” That might mean trading their first-round pick, which is music to Oilers’ fans ears.
