Authorities in Mexico are working to determine the whereabouts of Olympiacos striker Alan Pulido following a reported kidnapping that happened in the player’s hometown of Ciudad Victoria.

Alan Pulido’s brother, Armando, spoke to Mexican news outlet Medio Tiempo and confirmed reports that began early Sunday morning.
“Yes, it is true (the kidnapping). He disappeared in the morning and we all support the governor. We are waiting to see what happens.”
Early reports indicate that the Mexican national attended a party with his girlfriend on Saturday night. Shortly before midnight the couple left and were intercepted by several trucks who took the soccer player by force. This account has not been verified by government officials and no official statement has been issued at this time.
Pulido returned home following a successful season in Greece that saw Olympiacos win the Greek Superleague and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League. He was called up to the Mexico National Team in 2014, but was unable to be named to the country’s Copa América squad due to an ongoing transfer dispute with his former team Tigres.
Medio Tiempo reports that all three levels of government are currently working to locate and free Pulido. Tigres issued the following statement:
