The Kentucky Derby is more than just the “fastest two minutes in sports” that we witness the first Saturday afternoon each May, it is an all-day event with several horse races thoughout the day leading up to the 142nd run for the roses.
Kentucky Derby 2016 weather forecast:
Weather for the 142nd Run for the Roses at Churchill Downs is mostly dry but there’s a chance of showers by the time of the Derby.

The first race of the day starts 10:30 a.m. ET with the Kentucky Derby at 6:24 p.m. Most of the day will be dry but as we approach the Derby in the afternoon winds will increase west between 10 to 20 mph and scattered showers could form in the late afternoon as a cold front approaches the region.
