This table tennis shot is so unbelievable it looks illegal

When you’re a professional table tennis player you’ve probably seen it all — but what happened between Fan Zhendong and Simon Gauzy was so unlikely that it left both players stunned.

Fan came around the net to hit this drop shot roller that was absolutely un-returnable. It looks like this shot wouldn’t be allowed, but it went under the net clamp — so it was 100 percent legal.

The normally stoic Gauzy was so impressed all he could do was let his jaw drop and admire what happened. The shot occurred during the quarterfinals of the 2016 ITTF World Tour Laox Japan Open, so a lot was on the line. It’s not like this was a trick shot video.
