Stephen Curry ‘might have to cut the WiFi’ to prevent distractions
Stephen Curry has a unique idea to avoid controversy ahead of Game 7 of the NBA Finals. We’re just not 100 percent sure he understands how the internet works.
Let’s rewind this for a second. Ayesha Curry was upset after the Warriors lost Game 6. She did what every sports fan has done at some point in their life: Blame someone else.
Don’t even pretend you haven’t been so angry after a big game that you didn’t blame the refs, or the league or say something was rigged. You TOTALLY have. In any event, it became a whole big thing because we like to pretend we all don’t do this — so it’s a controversy.
Here’s where Steph comes in: So his plan, jokingly, is to cut the WiFi off at his house. There are a few problems with this:
- Ayesha Curry was in the stands live, she wasn’t watching it from home. So, unless Steph has a plan to take out the telecommunications grid in the greater Bay Area this won’t work.
- Assuming Ayesha won’t be at the game (which she totally will) cutting off the WiFi won’t work. Unless he lives in a rural pocket without cell tower coverage there will still be enough reception to send a tweet.
- Maybe he wasn’t referring to the whole silly controversy about the “rigged” tweet at all. We don’t know. Perhaps he could have been distracted by the rest of the internet — like this 1931 picture of a girl drying her cats on a washing line.
Why would you dry cats on a line? Did they have special cat-drying stockings sold in stores to allow people to dry their cats? What occurred to get these cats so wet that the needed to be dried on a line? Do cats have care instructions I was not aware of? This is entirely too much weight for a backyard clothes line. Look at the fraying on the right. This clothes line is one cat away from total collapse.
All we’ve established through this whole ordeal is that Steph doesn’t really know how WiFi works and Game 7 will depend entirely on whether Curry can stop looking at this cat photo.
Who is taking this photo? Are they like “Yes, you dry the cats and I’ll go to the considerable trouble in 1931 of using a camera and taking a photo of this.” This was taken right in the middle of the Great Depression. Was this some proto-internet designed to try and cheer people up during the worst economic crisis in world history? Was this the first meme? Did people walk around with this photo in their pockets and show them to friends?
