The 2016 Olympic trials in Indianapolis continue on Monday, as USA Diving continues to shape the pool of future Olympians representing the country in Rio this summer. Sunday saw one Olympian with a gold medal already to his name competing in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform in David Boudia. He and Steele Johnson lead that event by a wide margin following Sunday’s semifinals, and they’ll look to win it all when the finals are played on Thursday.

The Olympic diving trials continue with the men’s solo 3-meter springboard and the women’s solo 10-meter platform on Monday.

But Monday will feature a pair of new events. The women will compete in the solo 10-meter platform and the men will compete in the solo 3-meter springboard event. Both the preliminaries and semifinals of those two events will take place on Monday, with the finals to be decided later on.
No teams get eliminated from the preliminaries to the semifinals, or from the semifinals to the finals. It’s a cumulative score that stacks through all three rounds, so the leaders going out of Monday will still have work to do when they see the next round.
In the 2012 Olympics, the United States did not manage a medal in the solo men’s 3-meter springboard event, nor did the women manage a medal in the 10-meter platform solo event. Russia and China took gold medals in those events, respectively.
Monday’s un-televised preliminaries will get underway at 10 a.m. ET. The semifinals of both events will be carried live on NBCSN, and a live stream will be available at NBC Sports. That broadcast is set to run from the start of the event at 7 p.m. until approximately 11 p.m.
